"Laser Spine Surgery" is misleading language used in promotional material from other centers. Most procedures marketed as "laser" still require large incisions, cutting through muscle, drilling bone, and general anesthesia. The word "laser" is used for marketing appeal, not medical accuracy. In fact, a laser is rarely needed in any of these procedures, whether done at the Back Institute or elsewhere.
